Creative Peace Mural Society
The Society for Canada and Northern Ireland
The Creative Peace Mural Society is a non-profit, non-denominational organization that promotes international understanding and linkages through the creation of textile murals that represent local culture, history and geography.

The Creative Peace Mural Society was created in 2002 to continue the work initiated by the ART 2000 project. ART 2000 was a twelve year millennium project culminating in two textile murals representing Canada and Northern Ireland. Both of these murals were invited to go on exhibition at the United Nations Headquarters in New York during February 2001.

The society plans to create an additional series of murals. The new murals will continue to use the art form of Canadian artist Carole Sabiston and will follow the same theme as the previous murals. These murals will be slightly smaller than the original two murals to facilitate production and transport.

"This is your opportunity to participate in a global peace initiative to strengthen the fabric of goodwill between nations." Thora O'Grady, M.Ed., (Admin.)
