Carole Sabiston

Carole Sabiston is a Victoria, British Columbia, Canada-based textile artist who constructs large scale wall-hangings, theatre sets and costumes. Carole led the creation of the first two Creative Peace murals and all subsequent murals will follow her art form.

Carole was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (1987), she received the Order of British Columbia (1992), and the Canada 125 Medal (1993). In June 1995, she received an Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from the University of Victoria. In 1994, Carole designed the international textile project "Commonwealth Cape of Many Hands", featured at the Closing Ceremonies of the XV Commonwealth Games, held in Victoria, BC, Canada. This work was then presented to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, host city for the 1998 Commonwealth Games.
