A mural is constructed using a variety of textiles. This includes plain and patterned cottons, metallic and other selected materials. Nets are used to hold the pieces together and each panel is sewn using a zigzag stitch .
Materials and textiles typical of each mural location are included when possible.
Fabrics are layered in a collage technique. The images and ideas are designed and prepared on paper before being constructed in fabric and applied to the mural.
Each mural consists of 10 separate vertical panels 5 m wide by 2 m high (15 feet wide by 7 feet high).
This technique allows people with little or no experience to participate in the creation process.
